Prof. Pathan has been President of the Indian Mathematical Society, among other prestigious roles, and has supervised 13 Ph.D. students. His scholarly contributions include over 145 research papers, 4 books, and editorial roles in scientific journals. He is widely acclaimed for his work in Lie theory, Special Functions, and the History of Mathematics, with notable recognition such as delivering the Thirteenth Ramanujan Award Lecture. In 1991, Usha embarked on a new chapter in her career by joining Sydney University, where she delved into teaching. Her dedication to education led her to earn a second Ph.D. in Neural Networks under the guidance of Prof. Bill Gibson in 2002, showcasing her commitment to continuous learning and academic excellence. Usha's professional journey expanded into the actuarial field, where she spent eight years constructing and auditing spreadsheet models for Project Finance and Lease Finance deals.
