ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1996 with a tradition of high-quality teaching and has been making glorious progress with well-established laboratories and equipment. The department offers a variety of chemistry courses for the purpose of imparting knowledge in the core subject, which is a foundational building block for all engineering disciplines. The department has been serving with highly qualified and experienced faculty members since the day of its establishment.

The teachers of the department are involved in research areas such as reaction kinetics and catalysis, solid-state chemistry, synthesis of bioactive organic compounds, and drug analysis. The faculty members are recognized as Ph.D. supervisors by Andhra University and are actively guiding research scholars. The department has two well-equipped laboratories to meet the needs of students as well as research work. The department has two minor research projects sanctioned by UGC, with a total grant of Rs 9.5 lakhs. Three patents and more than 90 research articles from the department have been published in various peer-reviewed journals.
